Begusarai ADM O P Prasad nabbed accepting Rs 6 lakh as bribe, Rs 9.11 lakh seized from residence

Patna : Begusarai ADM Om Prakash Prasad, who was arrested on November 17, 2018, morning, by a State Vigilance Investigation Bureau team from his official residence at Begusarai accepting Rs 6 lakh as bribe, had initially demanded Rs 15 lakh from complainant Ram Pramod Singh of village Panhar under Begusarai police station for passing an order in his favour in a land record case a but had finally settled for Rs 11 lakh. He was arrested accepting the first instalment of the bribe from Ram Pramod Singh.

The Vigilance Bureau team led by DSP Gopal Paswan also seized Rs 5.6 lakh cash from the Officers’ Colony residence of ADM Om Prakash Prasad during search operation carried out after his arrest. Soon after his arrest, another Vigilance Bureau team searched ADM Prasad’s Patna residence located near Jalalpur City under Rupaspur police station and seized Rs 3.51 lakh cash.

Ram Pramod Singh had lodged a complaint with the Vigilance Bureau that ADM Prasad had demanded Rs 15 lakh from him to pass an order in his favour. During verification by the bureau, it was found that that ADM Prasad had finally agreed to accept Rs 11 lakh following request from Ram Pramod. After it was proved that ADM Prasad had demanded bribe, the vigilance bureau team laid a trap to arrest him, sources in the Bureau said.
