Bagaha : Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (AB- PMJAY) is yet to take off under Bagaha Sub-Division of West Champaran district in North Bihar. It was launched by the central government in September 2018 to ensure healthcare to rural and urban impoverished families identified on the basis of socio-economic caste census (SECC) 2011.
Dr Rajesh Singh “Niraj”, Medical Officer, Bagaha-2 block, on November 8, 2018, said that for implementation of this programme, some health personnel were sent for training and have returned recently. Another Medical officer Dr Arshad Kamal, who was on duty at Primary Health Centre(PHC), Bagaha-2 block, said that some people had come and inquired about Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana but as of now no benefit under the scheme is available here. Interestingly, a signboard of the programme has been displayed on the wall of PHC building.
