Patna : Police arrested three members of notorious Muchkund gang of Naubatpur in Patna district on November 5, 2018. The criminals had come to demand rangdari (extortion amount) from a shop-owner.
The arrested criminals have been identified as Kunal, Kaushlendra, and Bibhas alias Suddu. Three cellphones and Rs 7,000 cash were seized recovered from their possession. It may be mentioned here that the government has announced a reward of Rs 50,000 on Muchkund’s head.
Interacting with mediapersons here on November 5, City SP (West) Ravindra Kumar said that notorious Muchkund gang was planning to collect extortion amount during Deewali. He said that Kaushlendra, a resident of Tarwa and earlier liquor mafia, was demanding Rs 3 lakh from Sangeet Vastralaya, Naubatpur, in the name of Muchkund. City SP Kumar said that police arrested Kaushlendra with the co-operation of locals. He said that acting on the revelations made by Kaushlendra, police later arrested Kunal Kumar and Bivhash Kumar alias Suddu from village Chechaul under Naubatpur police station.
SP Kumar said that several criminal cases had been lodged against the arrested criminals with Bikram, Janipur, and Naubatpur police stations in Patna district. He said that police has also recovered the cellphone used by Muchkund
to extort rangdari from trader and threaten them.
