Ashleigh Barty beats Qiang Wang to lift WTA Elite Trophy

Patna : World No 19 in WTA rankings Ashleigh Barty, 22, Australia, on November 4, 2018, lifted the WTA Elite Troply beating World No 22 Qiang Wang, 26, China, in the final at Zhuhai, China. Barty beat Wang 6-3, 6-4 in the final at Zhuhai to register her first big victory on the WTA tour. It is the biggest title of Barty’s career and third overall.

Barty seved 2 Aces in the match to 1 by Wang. he also won 4 break points to 2 by Wang. Barty’s winnings percentage ( 64%) on her second serve was much better than that of her opponent (35%). The Australian also won 4 games in a row in the match to 3  by her rival.

Twelve top 12 female tennis players split into 4 groups participated in the tournament played on hard court on round robin basis. The rankings of both Barty and Wang will improve in WTA rankings after their excellent performance in the Elite Trophy. The next WTA rankings will be released on  November 5, 2018.
