Buxar : Police arrested Santosh Yadav Periyar for allegedly posting derogatory remarks against Goddess Durga on the Facebook. Police also arrested three persons for thrashing him. They were sent to jail on October 29, 2018.
DSP, Buxar, Satish Kumar and SDO Krishna Kumar Upadhyaya said that Santosh Yadav Peiryar had posted made derogatory comments against Goddess Durga on the Facebook and also observed Mahishasur martyr day. Deepak Yadav of the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) submitted a petition to police saying that the post hurt the religious feelings of the Hindu and demanded immediate arrest of Santosh Yadav Periyar.
On the other hand, Santosh Yadav Periyar, in a complaint lodged with police, has charged Saurabh Tiwari of Hindu Jagran Manch, Gittu Tiwari, General Secretary, Andolan Sanstha, and Ravi Ranjan Mishra of Chhatra Shakti for thrashing him. Later, police arrested all the four and produced them before the court. The court sent them to jail under judicial custody.
