Patna : World No 6 and 5th seed Kidambi Srikanth, 25, India, beat World No 25 Lee Dong Keun, 27, South Korea, in the second round to enter the quarter-finals of French Open badminton tournament at Paris, France, on October 25, 2018.

Defending champion Srikanth beat Keun in a close contest in three-game 12-21, 21016, 21-18 in 73 minutes.Both the players won 7 consecutive points each in the match. Srikanth won 3 game points to 2 by Keun. Srikanth won 54 rallies while Keun won 55. Keun, however, leads 2-1 head to head against Srikanth.

World No 2 Shi Yuqi, China, defeated World No 13 NG Ka Long Angus, Hong Kong,  21-7, 21-10 in 33 minutes in the second round.

World No 1 Kento Momota, 24, Japan, beat Kazumasa Sakai, Japan, 21-17, 21-17 in 48 minutes while World No 9 Son Wan Ho, South Korea, defeated Kento Nishimoto, Japan, 21-14, 21-18 in the second round.

In the women’s event, World No 2 in BWF rankings P V Sindhu, 23, India, beat World No 21 Sayaka Sato, Japan, 21-17, 21-16 in 46 minutes to enter the QF October 25, 2018, late night.
