Patna : Australia were 20/2 in 7 overs in their first innings at stumps on the first day of second cricket test against Pakistan at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, on October 16, 2018, with opener Aaron Finch batting on 13. Opener Usman Khwaja, who scored century in the drawn first test, fell to Mohammad Abbas for just 3. Abbas also took the wicket of nightwatchman Peter Siddle, who made 4.
Earlier, Pakistan were all out for 282 in 81 overs in their first innings on day one with opener Fakhar Zaman scoring 98 in 198 ball with 8 fours and a six and Captain & wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed making 94 in 129 ball with 7 fours. Spinner Yasir Shah made 28 in 34 ball with 3 fours and a six.
Three Pakistani batsmen : Haris Sohail, Asad Shafiq, and Babar Azam, fell to spinner Nathan Lyon for duck. Lyon had earlier taken the wicket of Azhar Ali, who made 15. In fact, Pakistan lost 4 wickets at 57. Fakhar Zaman and Sarfraz Ahmed then added 147 run for the 6th wicket. Zaman fell to part time spinner Marnus Labuschagne, 24, when the score was 204.
For Australia, Nathan Lyon took 4/78 while fast bowler Mitchell Starc took 2/37. Labuschagne took 3/45. All-rounder Mitchell Marsh also took a wicket.
