Patna : Chasing a target of 253, India were 127/1 after 20.2 overs against Afghanistan in their Asia Cup Super Four match at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, on September 25, 2018, night, riding on 57 with 4 fours and 4 sixes by Ambati Thirupati Rayudu and anbeaten 60 with 5 fours and a six by Lokesh Rahul. Rayudu and Rahul added 110 runs for the first wicket. Dinesh Karthik was batting on 6.

Earlier, electing to bat after winning the toss, Afghanistan made 252/8 in 50 overs with wicketkeeper Mohammad Shahzad scoring 124 in 116 ball with 11 fours and 7 sixes and Mohammad Nabi making 64 in 56 ball with 3 fours and 4 sixes. For India, Ravindra Jadeja took 3/46 while Kuldeep Yadav took 2/38. Kedar Jadhav, K Khaleel Ahmed and Deepak Chahar took one wicket eac.

India, who have already qualified for the final, rested captain Rohit Sharma, vice-captain Shikhar Dhawan, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, and Yuzvendra Chahal for this inconsequential match and brought in Lokesh Rahul, Manish Pandey, Sidhharth Kaul, Deepak Chahar, and Khaleel Ahmed.
