Buxar : ACJM VI, Buxar Civil Court, Rajesh Kumar Verma, on September 1, 2018, sentenced to three years’ rigorous imprisonment (RI) Akhilesh Kumar of village Bhimakhar Khaira in Ghazipur District in Uttar Pradesh (UP), and also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on him for marrying another girl despite being married.

Sneha Kumari of Dumraon Chowk in Buxar district was married to Akhilesh Kumar of village Bhimakhar Khaira inĀ  Ghazipur district in UP on February 14, 2004. The family members of the girl had given articles worth about Rs 2 lakh and Rs 3 lakh cash at the time of marriage. After 15 days of marriage, Akhilesh Kumar started torturing Sneha Kumari for more dowry and also threatened to marry another girl if his demand was not fulfilled.

Meanwhile, Sneha Kumari went to her parents. When she returned on January 5, 2014, her in-laws pushed her out of the house. After dragging her out of the house, Akhilesh Kumar tied knot with Seema Devi of village Pairatpur in Ghazipur district and had a daughter with her. At this, Sneha Kumari filed a complaint case in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate.

After hearing both the parties and going through all the documents and papers, ACJM VI Rajesh Kumar Verma found Akhilesh Kumar guilty and sentenced him three years’ rigorous imprisonment and also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on him.
