Patna : In a noble method to streamline traffic and checking unauthorised vehicles on the roads, Darbhanga police launched a website namely, manojkumarips.com on July 22, 2018. The website is aimed at providing auto permit statistics from District Transport Office (DTO) and Regional Transport Office (RTO).
Darbhanga police will be uploading data on the website to help the users on a frequent basis. Any person can enter their auto or bus number and find the respective permit and other details. People can also file FIR or upload information regarding their stolen vehicles on the websie.
In a survey carried out earlier, it was found that there were 4,500 registered autos in Darbhanga, but talks with auto associations revealed that 10,000 were plying on the roads. Police aim to remove all illegal autos from the road by such digital mechanism, said Darbhanga SSP Manoj Kumar. The website will gradually become an interactive one. It has a large photo gallery displaying district police officials. SSP Kumar also said that the website is already showing its impact as there has been a considerable decline in number of illegal autos on the roads during last two days.
