RJD demands speedy trial of Khopira gang rape & murder accused

Patna : An RJD fact finding committee led by former Minister Sheochandra Ram, MLA, which visited village Khopira under Pawana police station in Bhojpur district to inquire into the gang rape and murder of a middleage Mahadalit woman, submitted its report to Bihar RJD chief Ramchandra Purbey, who had constituted the committee.

The committee has demanded immediate monetary compensation to the next of kin of the deceased, a government job to one of her dependents, and speedy trial of the accused, who have been arrested.

The committed also inquired into the attack on caste lines on an elderly dalit Ramkishun Ram, 65, at an under construction Thakurbaari at village Koyal under Charpokhri police station Bhojpur district allegedly by one Rajendra Rai and some other feudal elements local feudal landlords. The committee found the allegation true and has demanded better medical aid to the injured Ramkishun, compensation to the victim, and arrest of Rajendra Rai and other accused.
