Police seize IMFL worth Rs 18 lakh, truck at Ara

Ara : Police, on a tip off, seized a truck carrying Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth about Rs 18 lakh on the outskirts of Ara, headquarters of Bhojpur district, and also arrested one Bheem Kumar Singh in this connection though another liquor smugglers escaped from the spot.

In another development, a joint team of Excise Department and Government Rail police (GRP) conducted raids at Ara railway station on July 9, 2018, night, and seized 115 bottles of IMFL and also arrested a liquor smuggler Surendra Kumar, son of Ramchandra Prasad of Nawada locality under Nawada police station in Bhojpur district.

Later, police lodged two separate FIRs against the arrested persons and sent them to jail.
