Patna : World No 11 Kento Momota, Japan, beat World No 7 Kidambi Srikanth, India, in a three set thriller in the first round of Indonesia Open Badminton on July 4, 2018. Momota beat Srikatnth 12-21, 21-14, 21-15. B Sai Praneeth also lost to Wang Tzu Wei, Chinese Taipei, 10-21, 13-21 in the first round. But, Sameer Verma beat Ramus Genke to enter the second round.
