Ara : Government Railway Police (GRP), Ara, seized five Tortoise and also arrested Tortoise smuggler from Farakka Express on July 2, 2018, night, at Ara Railway Station in Bhojpur district.
SHO, GRP, Ashok Kumar, said that he got information that someone was smuggling Tortoise from UP to West Bengal. He along with GRP and RPF personnel started search operation in trains and during the search, they found five Tortoise in two bags kept under berth no 33 of S-5 bogie of Farakka Express and also arrested the smuggler Pichchu Kanjar of Pakadi Sultanpur under Sultanpur police station in UP.
The SHO said that the smuggler was taking tortoises from UP to Malda in West Bengal and worked as courier. The SHO said that he was interrogating the smuggler to know about the mastermind of the gang.
