Police rescue kidnapped trader, 5 kidnappers arrested

Ara : Five miscreants kidnapped a trader from Ara grocery market under Town police station in Bhojpur district in the late evening on July 2, 2018, and took him towards Sasaram in Rohtas district. But, Bhojpur police with the help of their Rohtas counterpart succeeded in arresting all the five kidnappers and rescued the trader in the wee hour on July 3. Police also seized a countrymade pistol and about a dozen live cartridges from the  possession of arrested criminals. The incident has created panic among the businessmen.

Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar said that Vrinda Kumar dealt in Potato and Onion in Meghalaya and had come to his house at Eastern Nawada locality under Nawada police station about a week ago. He had gone to the grocery market under Ara Town police station in the late evening on July 2 when five armed miscreants kidnapped him and took carried him towards Sasaram in Rohtas district in a four-wheeler.

The SP said that as he got information, he constituted a police team that chased the kidnapers and also informed the Agrer police station in Rohtas district. As the kidnappers tried to pass the Agrer police station, Rohtas police and Bhojpur police jointly caught all the five kidnappers and rescued the trader near Baradih village under Agrer police station in Rohtas district. Another police team has been sent to Rohtas to interrogate the kidnappers.
