Patna : Croatia edged out Denmark 3-2 in penalty shootout in Round of 16 match at Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, Russia, late July 1, 2018, night, to enter the quarter-finals of FIFA World Cup (WC) 2018. Croatia have reached their first quarter-finals since 1998 when they had reached the semi-finals and finished third.
The penalty shootout was taken after the end of extra time (122 minute) with no result. Croatia Midfielder Luka Modric missed a penalty in the 116th minute during extra time. The score was 1-1 at the end of extra time.
