WRD lodges FIRs against 68 engineers, 3 contractors

Patna : The Water Resources Department (WRD), Bihar Government, has lodged FIRs against 68 engineers from Junior Engineers to Executive Engineers rank besides some contractors in connection with irregularities in execution of different projects.

The Water Resources Department (WRD), Bihar Government, on June 19, 2018, lodged FIRs against 20 engineers ranging from Junior Engineers to Executive Engineer under Flood Control Division,  Katihar, and Flood Control Division, Salmari, Katihar, in connection with alleged irregularities in works done on left and right embankments of river Mahananda. The Government will also conduct departmental inquiry against them.

The WRD has also lodged FIRs against Executive Engineer, Assistant Engineer, Junior Engineer, besides the Quality Control Engineers and Contractor Messrs Mangalmurti Construction, Bailey Road, Patna, in connection with alleged irregularities in preparation of estimate for construction of Cross Drainage (CD) structure under Irrigation Division, Murliganj, under Saharsa Circle, WRD. The Government has also ordered for holding departmental inquiry against the engineers concerned.

The Government has also lodged FIRs against the Executive Engineer, Assistant Engineer, and Junior Engineer, and contractor Messrs IVRC Limited, Hyderabad, in connection with alleged irregularities in preparing estimate for an outlet under Saharsa Circle. A department inquiry will also be carried out against the engineeres concerned.

The Government has also lodged FIR against 42 engineers in connection with alleged irregularities in restoration of East Kosi Canal under Purnia Circle. It has also ordered for departmental inquiry against the 42 engineers. The Government has also lodged FIR against contractor Messrs N R – J K N- Kamala (JV).
