Patna : Police are yet to arrest any of the five criminals involved in firing at a team of Piprahi police station in Sheohar district and looting a police vehicle in the wee hours on June 15, 2018. Sheohar SP Santosh Kumar said that a cordon was thrown around few villages adjoining Pitaujhia to nab the criminals but they managed to escape. Raids are on to arrest them at the earliest, the SP said.

The five criminals on a SUV fired on the police team and hurled crude bombs before looting the police vehicle after their vehicle was stopped and they were forced to come outside. As police had taken out the key of their SUV, they looted the police vehicle to escape. Police stopped the SUV following a tip off that five criminals in the vehicle were planning a major crime.

Incidentally, the Piprahi police team did not retaliate the firing by the criminals nor immediately chased them.The SP, however, claimed that police chased them immediately. The criminals abandoned the police vehicle at village Pitaujhia under Runnisaidpur police station in Sitamarhi district adjoining Sheohar and escpaed.
