Patna : Chasing a target of 453 to win, Sri Lanka (SL) were 52/1 after 13 overs in their second innings against West Indies (WI) in the second session of the play on day 4 in the first cricket test at Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad, on June 9, 2018, with Kusal Mendis batting on 20 and former Captain Angelo Mathew yet to score. Captain Dinesh Chandimal retired hurt after scoring 15.

Earlier, WI declared their second innings soon after lunch at 223/7 in 72 overs with Kieran Powell scoring 88 runs in 127 ball hitting 7 fours and 2 sixes. Captain Jason Holder scored 39 runs in 40 ball with 4 fours and a six. Spinner Devendra Bishoo remained not out on 16 while fast bowler Kemar Roach was unbeaten on 11.

For Sri  Lanka, fast medium bowler Lahiru Kumara, 21, who had taken 4 wickets in WI’s first innings, took 3/40 in the second innings.  Spinner Rangana Herath took 2/52. Suranga Lakmal and Dilruvan Perera took one wicket each.

Sri Lanka were all out for 185 in their first innings. WI had declared their first innings at 414/8.
