Bihar Cabinet approves establishmen of pvt Gopal Narayan Singh Varsity, BRRI

Patna : Bihar Government has decided to establish Bihar Road Research Institute (BRRI) on the lines of Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) at Patna for carrying out research, development and training in the field of road construction. The State Cabinet approved a proposal to this effect of Road Construction Department (RCD) at its meeting held on June 5, 2018, evening, according to Principal Secretary, RCD,  Amrit Lal Meena. The BRRI will be helpful in making engineers, contractors aware of the global technological development taking place in road sector, Meena said.
The cabinet also gave its approval for establishment of a private university, Gopal Narayan Singh University, at Jamuhar in Rohtas district, according to Principal Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat Department, Principal Secretary Arun Kumar Singh.

The State Cabinet Bihar Cabinet on June 5 also gave its approval “Bihar Rajya Fasal Sahayta Yojana” to provide financial assistance to farmers for their crop damage, said an official. The new scheme will replace the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and will be implemented from Kharif 2018, according to Principal Secretary, Cooperative Department, Atul Prasad. Prasad said this is an assistance scheme not an insurance scheme, he said adding farmers, both ryot and non-ryot, have been included in the scheme. The earlier insurance scheme benefited insurance companies more than the farmers, he said.

Altogether 39 decisions were taken at the cabinet meeting chaired by CM Nitish Kumar.
