West Champaran dist. authorities yet to get rly plot vacated

Bagaha : Repeated reminders by Railways construction project authority (NER Gorakhpur) to the West Champaran District Administration to get the railways land acquired for Paniyahawa-Tamkuhi rail project on Bihar-Uttar Pradesh border in 2007 vacated notwithstanding, the response of the district administration remains lukewarm.

Piparasi Circle (Anchal) authorities had rehabilitated about four dozens flood victims over some portion of the land during 2008-2009 ignoring the fact that the land had been acquired for the railways project. The work on the railways project is going on in full swing but that portion on which the flood victims have been rehabilitated is creating  hurdle in the earth work.

A delegation of villagers led by Chhathu Bind had met West Champaran DM Nilesh Ramchandra Deore on May 26, 2018, in his connection. According to the delegation members, the DM had assured them that the rehabilitation of those settled on the railway plot will begin after three- four days. But, the rehabilitation of flood victims is yet to start. Mukhiya of Semra-Labdeha panchayat Manorama Devi had also urged DM, West Champaran, and SDM, Bagaha, to expedite their rehabilitation but to no avail so for.
