Ara : Police led by SDPO, Ara, Pankaj Kumar conducted raids at Rampur village under Dhobaha Police Outpost on May 26, 2018, and seized 1,228 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). Police also arrested three liquor smugglers: Ranjeet Singh of Rampur, Sumant Singh and his brother Hemant Singh of Basantpur village.
A named FIR has been lodged with Dhobaha Police Outpost against the arrested persons under the Prohibition and Excise Act. Later, police sent them to jail.
In another development, sleuths of Prohibition & Excise Department and Bhojpur police,on the direction of Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar, jointly conducted raids at village Semaron under Koelwar police station on May 25, 2018, evening, and seized 593 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from a field there though no arrest was made in this connection.
