VKSU VC Prof Mumtazuddin resigns

Ara: Vice – Chancellor (VC), Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, Prof  Sayyed Mumtazuddin resigned from his post on May 21, 2018, and sent his resignation letter to the Chancellor cum Governor.

In his resignation letter to the Governor, the VC has mentioned that he was unable to discharge his duty honestly due to poor health condition. Earlier, the VC had tendered his resignation to the Chancellor cum Governor on November 27, 2017, on personal ground but his resignation was not accepted at that time. He had withdrawn his resignation after a meeting with the Chancellor and an assurance of support in discharge his duty.

The VC was determined to check illegal practices at the university headquarters and  colleges under it and was also working to streamline academic atmosphere and maintain quality of education and sanctity of examination. But, he was not getting any support from any quarter.

About two months back, he had some tiff with the newly elected student representatives over some facilities to them and he had threatened to resign. Two days ago, the leaders of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and All India Students Association (AISA) had clashed before the VC and went on rampage on the university campus over the issue of sitting in students union office. He tried to sort out the problem on May 21, 2018, but failed. Sources in the university said that the no one was supporting him.
