Bhabhua : Nandini Devi, who was married to Ranjeet Pandey of village Dahrwar 10 months back, was poisoned to death at her in-laws’ place at village Dharwar under Sonahan police station in Kaimur district on May 16, 2018, night, for a motorcycle worth about Rs 1.5 lakh.

A named FIR was lodged Pandey with Sonahan police station against Nandini’s husband Ranjeet Pandey, mother-in-law Meean Kuer, elder brother-in-law Ajay Pandey, and two villagers Satyendra Pandey and Rajaram Pandey. Police arrested Meena Kuer and sent her to jail.

SHO, Sonahan police station, said that Nandini Devi, daughter of Ashok Tiwari of Redma village in Palamu district in Jharkhand, was married to Ranjeet Pandey, son of late Awadhesh Pandey of Dahrwar village under Sonahan police station in Kaimur district, about 10 months ago and ever since her in-laws were torturing her for a motorcycle worth about Rs 1.5 lakh. When their demand was not fulfilled, they allegedly poisoned her to death, the SHO said quoting the FIR. The in-laws disposed off the body to erase evidence.
