Kohlschreiber upsets Jack Sock in Italian Open

Patna : World No 28 in Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings Philipp Kohlschreiber, 34, Germany, upset World N0 14 Jack Sock, 25, USA, in the second round of  Italian Open Masters 1000 at Foro Italico, Rome, on May 16, 2018. Kohlschreiber beat 13th seed Sock 6-4, 6-3 to enter the third round of the tournament. World No 10 David Goffin , 27, Belgium, beat World No 73 Marco Cecchinato, 25, Italy,  5-7, 6-2, 6-2, on May 15 to enter the third round.

Women : In the women’s section World No 6 in WTA rankings Jelena Ostapenko, Latvia, 20, the 5th seed, defeated Shuai  Zhang, 29, China, to enter the 3rd round of Italian Open. French Open Champion Ostapenko beat Zhang 6-2, 7-5 in the second round on May 16, 2018.
