Patna : Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 6 wickets in the 49th match of IPL 2018 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on May 15, 2018, night, riding on an excellent 41 not out in 31 ball with 5 fours and a six by capain Dinesh Karthik and 45 in 42 ball with 5 fours and a six by opener Chris Lynn, Australia. KKR had won the toss but opted to ball.

Batting first, RR were all out for 142 in 19 overs with opener Jos Buttler, England, scoring 39 in 22 ball hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes. Jaydev Unadkat made 26 and opener Rahul Tripathy 27. RR captain Ajinkya Rahane and allrounder Ben Stokes, England, made 11 each.

For KKR, Kuldeep Yadav took 4/20 in 4 ovees. Andre Russel and Prasidha Krishna also took two wickets each. Sunil Narine and Shivam Mavi took one wicket each. Kuldeep Yadav took the wickets of Jos Buttler, Rahane, Ben Stokes, and Stuart Binny.

Replying to the RR total, KKR had lost their first two wickets that of  Sunil Narine and Robin Uthappa by the time team score reached 36. Narine was out for 21 hitting  2 fours and two sixes. Uthappa was out for 4 while Nitish Rana ( 3rd wicket) scored 21 hitting 2 fours and a six. Rana got out when the score was 63. Lynn ( 4th wicket) got out when the score was 117. Andre Russel remained unbeaten on 11 in 5 ball hitting 2 fours. For RR, Ben Stokes took 3/15 in 4 overs.

KKR have now 14 points from 13 matches and have almost qualified for the play offs. RR have 12 points from 13 matches.
