Three killed, 5 injured in Rohtas accident

Sasaram: Three persons were killed and five others seriously injured when a speeding truck collided head-on with a three wheeler near village Parasia on Kochas-Sasaram main road in Rohtas district on May 12, 2018, evening.

Police brought the bodies over to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the injured there. The truck driver fled away with the truck after the accident. The deceased were identified as Bindu Ram, son of Bhuwaneshwar Ram, Shiv Kumar Sah, son of Jagarnath Sah of Bardiha village under Kochas police station, and Radha Sah, son of Hari Sah of village Kochas under the same police station in Rohtas district.

The injured were identified as Rajeshwar Sah, Kumari Asha, a teacher in Chawari Primary School, Bharhua, Sri Nath Chaudhary, Govind Sah, and the driver of the three- wheeler Jhunjhun Ram.

SHO, Kochas police station, Nand Kumar Singh said that an overloaded three- wheeler was going to Shahmalkhaira from Kochas. When it reached near Parasia village on Kochas-Sasaram main road, a speeding truck collided head on with it. The three wheeler overturned into a ditch on the roadside in which two persons: Bindu Ram and Shiv Kumar Sah were killed on spot while Radha Sah succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital.

The SHO said that the doctor on duty at Sasaram Sadar Hospital Vikas Kumar escaped from the hospital seeing the mob. Later, Dr Sangram Singh reached the hospital and referred the injured persons to Varanasi after the initial treatment.
