Buxar : A married woman Neha was killed at village Laxmanpur Dera under Bhariyar police outpost under Chakki block in Buxar district on May 7, 2018, as her parents failed to meet her in-laws’ demand for Rs 2 lakh cash and a motorcycle as dowry. The body was thrown into river Ganga to erase evidence.

The body of the deceased was fished out on May 8 and police brought it over to Buxar Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. A named FIR has been lodged with Bhariyar police outpost against four persons including Neha’s husband Guddu Yadav and father-in-law Bharat Yadav on the statement of her father Sri Ram Yadav but no arrest has so far been made in this regard.

SHO, Bhariyar police outpost, said that Neha, daughter of Sri Ram Yadav of Sonbarsha village under Karnamepur police outpost in Bhojpur district, was married to Guddu Yadav, son of Bharat Yadav of village Laxmanpur under Bhariyar police outpost in 2012 and her second marriage (gauna) took place in 2014. The SHO said that Neha’s in-laws allegedly killed her and threw the body into river Ganga.
