Man arrested with parents for trying to marry second time

Ara : Police on May 6, 2018, night, arrested a bridegroom Deepak Kumar and his parents Ramdehi Sah and Asharfi Devi from a temple under Piro police station in Bhojpur district for trying to marry a teenage girl despite being already married. They were forwarded to jail.

SHO, Piro police station, said that Deepak Kumar, son of Ramdeni Sah of village Dumaria  under Tarari police station, was married to Uma Kumari, daughter of Pawan Kumar of village Sewatha under Sahar police station, three years ago. On May 6 evening, he along with his parents reached the Bahri Mahadev temple at village Dumaria under Piro police station to marry a teenage girl second time.

Pawan Kumar got information about it and he complained to police, which immediately swung into action and arrested Deepak Kumar when he was tying nuptial knot with the teenage girl. Police also arrested his father Ramdehi Sah and mother Asharfi Devi, the SHO said. He said that a named FIR was lodged with Piro police station against Deepak Kumar, his father Ramdehi Sah and mother Asharfi Devi on the statement of Pawan Kumar, girl’s father.

Deepak Kumar told police that he was marrying with the consent of the girl as his first wife was mentally retarded. On the other hand, the girl said that she did not know about the first marriage of Deepak Kumar. Later, police handed over the girl to her parents.
