KXIP defeat RR by 6 wickets in IPL at Indore

Patna : Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 6 wickets in the 38th match of IPL 2018 at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore, MP, at May 6, 2018, riding on an unbeaten 84 in 54 ball with 7 fours and 3 sixes by opener and wicketkeeper Lokesh Rahul and an unbeaten 23 in 16 ball with 2 fours and a six by Marcus Stoinis, Australia.

Karun Nair scored 31 in 23 ball hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes. Opener Chris Gayle was out for 8 only while Mayank Agarwal made 2. Axar Patel was out for 4.

KXIP won the toss but opted to bowl. RR scored a modest 152/9 in 20 overs. KXIP scored 155/4 in 18.4 overs.

Batting first RR had scored 152/9 riding on 51 with 7 fours by opener and wicketkeeper Jos Buttler, England, an 28 by Sanju Samson with 2 fours and a six. Shreyas Gopal was run out for 24 in 16 ball hitting 3 fours. Captain Ajinkya Rahane made only 5.

For KXIP, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Afghanistan, took 3/27 in 4overs while Andrew Tye, Australia, took 2/24 in 4 overs. Captain Ravichandra Ashwin, Axar Patel, and Ankit Rajpoot als took one wicket each.

KXIP have now 12 points from 9 matches while RR have 6 points from 9 matches in IPL 2018. SRH lead the points table with 14 points from 9 matches while CSK have 14 points from 10 matches.
