Lin Dan to play Jonatan Cristies in New Zealand Open badminton

Patna : World Number 15 in Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings B Sai Praneeth, India, the 3rd seed, lost in the semi-finals of New Zealand Open 2018, a World Tour 300 event, at Auckland, to World Number 13 Jonatan Christie, Indonesia, the 2nd seed,  in three games 21-19, 19-21, 8-21, on May 5, 2018. Praneeth won the first but lost the next two games.

Jonatan will play World Number 6 and top seed Lin Dan, 34, China, in the final on May 6.Lin Dan defeated World Number 138 Heo Kwang Hee, South Korea, a qualifier, 21-16, in the semi-finals.
