Prajnesh jumps 84 places in ATP rankings, Nadal stays Wolrd No 1

Patna : Prajnesh Gunneswaran, 28, Chennai, India, has jumped 84 places to be ranked 176th in the ATP rankings with 319 points released on April 30, 2018, after winning the Kunming Open Challenger tournament at Anning, China, defeating Mohamed Safwat, 27, Egypt.  Safwat has jumped 52 places to be ranked 177th in the ATP rankings with 318 points.

Yuki Bhambri, 25, India, has slipped two places to be ranked 85th with 688 points while Ramkumar Ramnathan, 23, India,  has slipped five places to be ranked 120th with 454 points. Sumit Nagal, 20, India, has also slipped six places to be ranked 225th in the latest ATP rankings with 260 points.

Jako Tipsarevic, Serbia, 33, has slipped 113 places to be ranked 321 in the ATP rankings with 151 points. N Vijay Sundar Prashanth, 31, India, has slipped two places to be ranked 468th with 77 points. Sidharth Rawat, 25, India, is ranked  509 with 66 points while Saketh Myneni, 30, India, is ranked 533rd with 59 points.

World Number 1 : Rafael Nadal, 31, Spain, stays world Number 1 with 8,770 points after retaining his Barcelona Open ATP 500 singles title demolishing Stefanos Tsitsipas, 19, Greece, 6-2, 6-1, in the final on April 29, 2018. Nadal has won the Barcelona Open for the 11th time for his 77th career title. It was his 55th clay court title. Nadal had won ATP Monte Carlo Masters 1000 singles title for the 11th time recently. Nadal will have to retain his ATP Madrid Open Masters 1000 to stay World Number 1.

Roger Federer, 36, Switzerland, retains his Number 2 position with 8,670 points just one hundred points behind Nadal. Alexander Zverev, 21, Germany, 29, and Marin Cilic, 29, Croatia, stay Number 3 and Number 4 with 5,195 and 4,985 points respectively. Grigor Dimitrov, 26, Bulgaria, is Number 5 with 4,950 points.

Tsitsipas, 19, has jumped 19 places to ranked 44th in the ATP rankings with 1,106 points. Former World Number 1 and winner of three Grand Slam titles Andy Murray, 30, UK, has slipped 5 places to be ranked 39th with 1,180 points. Another former World Number 1 and winner of 12 Grand Slam titles Novak Djokovic, 30, Serbia, is ranked 12th with 2,220 points.
