Patna : Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 6 wickets in the 29th match of IPL this season at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, on April 29, 2018, riding on an unbeaten 62 in 52 balls with 7 fours and six by opener Chris Lynn and 36 in 21 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes by Robin Uthappa. KKR had won the toss but opted to bowl. Replying to RCB total of 175/4 in 20 overs, KKR made 176/4 in 19.1 overs.
KKR captain Dinesh Karthik made a quickfire 23 in 10 balls with 2 fours and a six while opener Sunil Narine made 27 in 19 balls with 3 fours and a six. Nitish Rana retired hurt on 15 while allrounder Andre Russel was out without scoring. Lynn was dropped on 7 and that cost the RCB the match.
Asked to bat first, RCB made 175/4 with captain Virat Kohli making an unbeaten 68 in 44 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. RCB openers Quinton de Kock and Brendon McCullum scored 29 and 38 runs respectively and were involved in a 67 run stand for the first wicket. McCullum hit 4 fours and 2 sixes in his 38 while de Kock hit 3 fours and a six in his 29.
KKR have now 8 points in 8 matches having lost 4 of them while RCB have 4 points in 7 matches having lost five matches.
