Patna : Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik on April 29, 2018, appointed retired bureaucrat Shishir Sinha as the Chaiman of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) effective from the date his assuming charge of the office.

Development Commissioner Sinha, a Bihar cadre 1982 batch IAS officer, took voluntary retirement from Indian Administrative Service (IAS) for personal reasons on April 28, 2018. He was scheduled to retire on July 31, 2018.

Sinha has been appointed BPSC Chairman for a periodof six years or 62 years whichever comes first, according to a notification by General Administration Department (GAD) on April 29.

The Governor has appointed Rajendra Prasad Gupta, a retired Additional Secretary belonging to Bihar Administrative Service (BAS), as Member, BPSC, for a period of 6 years or 62 years whichever comes first. The Governor has also appointed Mohammad Naushad Yusuf, a retired IAS officer and former DM, Begusarai, as Member, BPSC, for a periodof 6 years or 62 years whichever comes first. Begusarai DM Yusuf had taken voluntary retirement on April 28, 2018.

BSSC Member : The State Government has appointed Hemantnath Dev, a retired Special Secretary belonging to Bihar Administrative Service (BAS), has been appointed Member, Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC), for a period of 6 years or 65 years whichever comes first.
