Ara : Thirty trainee Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) fell ill and were admittedto the emergency ward of Ara Sadar Hospital after taking food on April 28, 2018. Doctors of the hospital examined them and administered medicine to them. The trainee ANMs complained that after taking food they started vomiting and had loose motion along with giddiness. When they inquired about it, they found that a lizard had fallen into the meal.

Deputy Superintendent (DS), Ara Sadar Hospital, Dr Satish Kumar Sinha said some trainee ANMs fell ill after taking food but some of them had psychological effect of the incident. He said that all of them were being treated at the Hospital and now feeling better.

Principal, ANM school located on the campus of Ara Sadar Hospital, Asha Kumari, admitted that a lizard had fallen into the meal prepared for the ANMs and they fell ill after taking the food.

Trainee ANMs : Soni, Priyanka, and  Juhi, said that they too were about to take meal but dared not after seeing their colleagues falling ill. They rushed their ailing colleagues to the Ara Sadar Hospital. They said a trainee ANM Jyoti Kumari noticed a lizard in her meal.
