Patna : Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 4 runs the 20th match of the IPL this season that went to wire at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. It was an absolute thriller. CSK had scored 182/3 in 20 overs with Ambati Rayudu making a 37 ball 79 with 9 fours and 4 sixes, Suresh Raina an unbeaten 54 in 43 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes, and captain M S Dhoni an unbeaten 25 in 12 balls 3 fours and a six. Openers Shane Watson, Australia,  and Faf du Plessis, South Africa, getting out for 9 and 11 runs respectively. Rayudu was run out.

For SRH, Rashid Khan took 1/49 in 4 overs while Bhuvaneshwar Kumar took 1/22 in 3 overs. 

Chasing a target of 183, SRH could score 178/6 in 20 overs though captain Kane Williamson, New Zealand, Yusuf Pathan, and Rashid Khan, Afghanistan, made tremendous effort to win the match. Williamson made 85 in 51 balls with 5 fours and 5 sixes while Pathan made 45 in 27 balls with 1 four and 4 sixes. But, both of them got out within a space of few balls when close to the target. When everything was looking lost for SRH, Rashid Khan made 17 in 4 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes. But, it was not enough and the SRH lost by 4 runs.

For CSK, Dipak Chahar took 3/15 in 4 overs wwhile Shardul Thakur took 1/45 in 4 overs. Karn Sharma took 1/30 in 3 overs while Dwayne Bravo took 1/37 in 3 overs.
