Nawada: Two young traders were stabbed, one of them fatally, on April 16, 2018, night by some unidentified persons at Warisaliganj in Nawada district creating sendation in the area. The traders of the market observed a complete bandh in protest on April 17.

Vishal Kumar, 25, son of Ravi Charausia, a footpath trinket-cum-bangle vendor outside Warisaliganj railway station, was stabbed thrice around 10 pm but managed to escape and is undergoing treatment at sadar hospital. Monu Kumar, 25, son of Vinod Ram Burnwal, also a footpath ready-made garment vendor outside Warsaliganj railway staion, was stabbed repeatedly to death at 8.30 pm at the play ground of the closed Warisaliganj sugar mill, 300 metres away from Warisaliganj police station.

Police are clueless about motive behind the two incidents of stabbing. The 20,000 strong traders and business community of Warisaliganj are demanding the arrest of the perpetrators of the crime and change of guard of Warisaliganj PS. The traders suspect the hand of anti-secular elements out to disturb the communal harmony of the area.

Warisaliganj BJP MLA Srimati Aruna Devi, who consoled the familiy members of the victims, has also decried the poor law and order in the area. SDPO Sri Prakash Singh has assured the people of apprehending the culprits at the earliest.
