Patna : Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by 4 wickets in 19.3 overs in the 8th match of IPL 2018 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, on April 13, 2018, riding on  brilliant 57 in 40 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes by A B de Villiers and 45 in 34 balls with 7 fours and a six by opener Quinton de Kock, both of South Africa. KXIP were all out for 155 in 19.2 overs. RCB made 159/6 in 19.3 overs.

RCB captain Virat Kohli made 21 in 16 balls with 4 fours. Opener Brandon McCullum was out without scoring while Mandeep Singh was run out for 22 in 19 balls with only one four. For KXIP, captain Ravichandran Ashwin took 2/30 while Axar Patel took 1/25. Andrew  Tye and Mujeeb Ur Rahman took one wicket each.

Earlier, asked to bat first by RCB who whon won the toss, KXIP were all out for 155 with opener Lokesh Rahul scoring 47 in 30 bals with 2 fours and 4 sixes and Captain Ravichandran Ashwin scoring 33 in 21 balls with 3 fours and a six. Karun Nair made 29 while opener Mayank Agarwal made 15. For RCB, Umesh Yadav took 3/23 while Kulwant Khejrolia took 2/33. Chris woakes took 2/36 and spinner Wshington Sundar 2/22. Yuzvendra Chahal took 1/38.
