Patna : Ace shooter Shreyasi Singh, 26, India, on April 11, 2018, clinched gold medal in women’s Double Trap event beating Emma Cox, Australia, at Gold Coast Commonwealth Games 2018. Shreyasi Singh beat Cox in a shoot off. She had shot 96 and was tied with Cox leading to shoot off. It was India’s 12th gold medal at the on going Gold Coast CWG.

A Delhi based Bihar girl Shreyasi Singh had won silver medal in Double Trap at Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014 in Scotland. Shreyasi’s father late Digvijay Singh, a former Union Minister, was president of National Rifle Association of India in his life time. Her grandfather Kumar Surendra Singh was also president of National Rifle Association of India in his lifetime. Shreyasi studied at Hansraj College, Delhi.

Mitharwal wins Bronze Medal : Shooter Om Mitharwal won bronze medal in men’s 50m pistol event  on April 11, 2018. Daniel Rapacholi, Australia, won the gold. Mitharwal had won bronze medal in 10 m Air Pistol on April 9, 2018. Defending champion Jitu Rai, who had won gold medal in men’s 10m Air Pistol on April 9, had a disappointing outing finishing 8th.
