Patna : Mehuli Ghosh, 17, Kolkata, India, won silver medal while Apurvi Chandela, 25, India, won bronze medal in 10m Air Rifle event at Gold Coast Commonwealth Games (CWG) on April 9, 2018.

Mehuli, who was coached by Arjuna Award winner Joydeep Karmakar and was trained at Joydeep Karmakar Shooting Academy, Kolkata, settled for silver medal in her debut appearance after a shoot off with gold medal winner Martina Lindsay Veleso, Singapore. Mehuli hails from a small town Baidyabati, 30 km away from Kolkata, West Bengal. Her parents are of modest means.

Apurvi Chandela hails from Jaipur, Rajasthan. Apurvi had won gold medal in 10 m Air Rifle at 2014 Glasgow CWG. She did her graduation from Jesus & Mary College, Delhi University. Her father Kuldip Singh Chandela is a hotelier.
