Patna : In a clash of titans, two time IPL champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by one wicket in the first match of IPL 2018 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on April 7, 2018, night, with Dwayne Bravo scoring an explosive 68 in 30 balls with 3 fours and 7 sixes when things were looking lost for them after 16 overs. The three time IPL champion MI had scored 165/4 in 20 overs. CSK scored 169/9 19.5 overs. CSK were 118/6 after 16.3 overs. 

For MI, Hardik Pandya and Mayank Markande took 3/24 and 3/23 respectively. CSK were 118/6 after 16.3 overs. Mitchell Mcclenaghan took 1/44 while Jasprit Bumrah took 1/37. Mustfizur Rahman took 1/39.
