Police seize 6,816 bottles of IMFL in Bhojpur, 1 held

Ara : Bhojpur police on April 5, 2018, seized 6,816 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) packed in 568 cartons and worth about Rs 30 lakh from a truck near Dhyani Tola under Charpokhari police station. Police also seized the truck but its driver escaped from the scene.

Station House Officer (SHO), Charpokhari police station, Vishwajeet Kumar said that when police tried to stop a truck. But, its driver tried to flee but the truck overturned near Dhyani Tola on Ara-Sasaram main road on April 5. Police seized the seized truck to the Charpokhari police station. Though the driver escaped, police arrested a liquor smuggler Deepak Kumar of Chhapra in this connection. The SHO said that the truck was laden with wall paint but when it was searched, police found 6,816 bottles of IMFL packed in 568 cartons on the truck.

Piro DSP Reshu Krishna is interrogating the arrested liquor smuggler. She suspects involvement of an inter-district gang of liquor smugglers in the racket and said that police would arrest all the liquor smugglers including the kingpin very soon.
