New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 3, 2018, announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 10 lakh each to the next of the kin of those who were killed in Mosul, Iraq, according to a PIB release.
It may be mentioned here that 39 Indians were killed by Islamic State terrorists in Mosul in 2014. Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh had brought back their mortal remains to India from Iraq recently.
