Patna : World Number 32 in WTA rankings Agnieszka Radwankska, 29, Poland, stunned World Number 1 and top seed Simona Halep, 26, Romania, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3, in the third round of Miami Open Masters 1000 at Crandon Park Tennis Centre, Key Biscayne, Florida, USA, on March 24, 2018, in a huge upset. World Number 2 Caroline Wozniacki is already out of the tournament having lost to World Number 82 Monica Puig, 24, of Puertico Rico, in the second round.

World Number 3 and third seed Garbine Muguruza, Spain, 24, the reigning Wimbledon Champion, entered the 4th round defeating World Number 91 Christina McHale, 25, USA, 6-2, 6-1. World Number 5 Karolina Pliskova, 25, Czech Republic, also entered the 4th round after defeating World Number 61 Su Wei Hsieh, 32, Chinese Taipei, in three sets 6-4, 1-6, 7-6.

World Number 10 Angelique Kerber, 30, Germany, too has entered the 4th round defeating World Number 25 and 23rd seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, 26, Russia, 6-4, 6-4. World Number 186 Victoria Azarenka, 28, Belarus, has also entered the 4th round defeating World Number 17 Anastasija Sevastova, 27, Latvia, in three sets 3-6, 6-4, 6-1, in round of 32. Azarenka is a two time Australian Open Champion in 2012 and 2013. She had also reached the final of US open twice in 2012 and 2013.
