Ara : Bihar Diwas was celebrated in Bhojpur district at Veer Kuer Singh Stadium, Ramana Maidan, Ara, on March 22, 2018, with much fanfare. The function was organized by Bhojpur district administration.
Though the district administration had invited all the MLAs, MLCs, MP, but only Agiawa MLA Prabhu Nath Ram and Sandesh MLA Arun Yadav and Bhojpur District Board Chairperson Arati Devi were present while Ara MP and Union Minister Raj Kumar Singh, Ara MLA Nawaz Alam, Shahpur MLA Rahul Tiwari, Jagdishpur MLA Ram Vishun Singh, Tarari MLA Sudama Prasad, Barhara MLA Saroj Yadav, MLC Radha Charan Sah, MLC Awadhesh Narayan Singh, MLC Sanjeev Shayam Singh, MLC Ranvijay Singh, Mayor, Ara Municipal Corporation (AMN), Priyam Devi were not present on the occasion.
Minister, Mines and Geology cum minister-in-charge, Bhojpur District, Vinod Kumar Singh inaugurated the function by lighting the ceremonial candle. The students of Dr Nemi Chand Shastri Girls High School, sang the welcome note.
Welcoming the guests, DM Sanjeev Kumar said Bhojpur is a historical district and famous worldwide but still lags behind in comparison to other states as people of the state lack self -discipline. He said that deterioration is visible in education system, medicare, administrative system and stressed on the need of introspection. He advised the people ‘help ever, hurt never, love all, serve all’.
The Minister Inharge Vinod Kumar Singh gave Rs 50,000 each to four couples who married with differently abled persons. Addressing the gathering, he said that Bihar was declared as State on March 22, 1912, and since then March 22 is celebrated as Bihar Diwas. He paid homage to the freedom fighters who sacrificed for their motherland. He said that division of Bihar in the year 2000, it was said that all natural resources had gone to Jharkhand but due to better management Bihar is developing faster. He also highlighted the achievements of Nitish government especially after formation of government with NDA.
Eaarlier, at least 5,000 boys and girls of different schools took out a ‘prabhat pheri’ in the morning from Ramana Maidan that passed through the main thoroughfares of Ara town. DM Sanjeev Kumar flagged off the ‘Prabhat pheri’.
Banks, DRDA, Agriculture department, district administration, Horticulture, ICDS, Social Security, Ara Municipal Corporation, District Welfare Department, District Education Department, Red Cross, Jeevika, Mahila Helpline and other NGOs, Prabhat Creative Society, Sudha Dairy, Satya Vridh Ashram, Police department had set up their stalls highlighting different schemes of government. Archery, quiz, drawing and painting competitions were also organized and prizes were given to the successful participants. A women wrestling competition organized on the occasion turned out to be crowdpuller.
