Man arrested for killing wife in Bagaha

Bagaha : A team of Bathwaria police station in Bagaha police district led by SHO Ashok Kumar arrested one Dhananjay Thakur of Bathawaria Bazaar on March 21, 2018, from Jaini Tola for allegdly killing his wife Heena Khatoon. Both had married in the court as it was a love marriage. But, Dhananjay’s father Ramnarayan Thakur is absconding.

Bagaha SP Arbind Kumar Gupta on March 21 said that it was an inter-religion marriage and they had married in the court six months back. The Bagaha SP said that Heena Khatoon belonged to an adjoining village. But, their married life was not smooth allegedly due to   religious reasons, the SP said adding she was allegedly being tortured just after three months of her marriage by her in- laws and was strangulated to death on March 20, 2018, and the body was found dumped in Manpur Gandak diara (riverine area).

Police, oin secret information, recovered the body on March 20 evening itself. Heena’s mother Kamrul Khatoon had lodged with Bathawaria police station in this connection and making  Dhananjay Thakur and his father Ramnarayan Thakur as named accused. Police are searching for Ramnarayan, SP Gupta said.
