1 killed, 2 injured in exchange of firing between 2 groups of Sand mafia in Bhojpur

Ara : One person was killed while two other seriously injured in an exchange of fire between two groups of sand mafias at village Akhgaon under Chandi police station on March 14, 2018. Irate villagers blocked Sahar-Chandi main road with the body of the deceased for about two hours demanding arrest of the miscreants.

The blockade was lifted after positive response from police officials. Police later brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the injured there but the doctors referred them to Patna Medical College and Hospital in view of their precarious condition. Tension prevails in and around the area following the incident.

SHO, Chandi police station, said that two groups of sand mafias clashed and exchanged fire at Akhgaon sand ghat under Chandi police station for chalans in which Prithvi Nath Pandit said to be a cook at the sand ghat was killed while two others were seriously injured.
