Ara : Bhojpur police arrested two truck hijackers and also seized a countrymade pistol, three live cartridges, two cellphones along with a truck laden with 16,310 tons of thin iron rods worth about Rs 8 lakh from Khaira Bazaar under Sahar police station in the afternoon on March 13, 2018.

The arrested truck hijackers were identified as Mantu Kumar, son of Ashok Yadav, and Ravindra Musahar alias Ravindra Manjhi, son of Vale Manjhi of village Sakinan Panchlova  under Islampur police station of Nalanda district.

Piro DSP Reshu Krishnan said that a driver was taking a truck loaded with 16,3120 tons of thin iron rods from Bihta iron factory to Karghar in Rohtas district on March 13, 2018,  Mantu Kumar and Ravindra Musahar intercepted the truck on Bihta-Arwal road and tried to hijack the truck at pistol point. But, the truck driver tactfully took the truck to Arwal on  their direction and raised an alarm staking his life on the bridge when the truck was approaching Khaira Bazaar under Sahar police station. Police immediately swung into action and arrested both the hijackers.
