India defeat Bangladesh by 6 wickets in T20I at Colombo

Patna : India defeated Bangladesh by 6 wickets in Nidahas Trophy T20I tri-series at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka, on March 8, 2018, riding on a splendid batting display by opener Shikhar Dhawan, who scored 55 in 43 balls hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes,  and 28 in 27 balls by Suresh Raina including a six and a four. Taskin Ahmad took the wicket of Dhawan. Sri Lanka had scored 139/8 in 20 overs while India made 140/4 in 18.4 overs.

Dhawan and Raina were involved in a 68 run partnership for the third wicket. Dhawan had also scored 90 against Sri Lanka in the first match of the series. Manish Pandey remained unbeaten on 27 in 19 balls and Dinesh Karthik 2 not out.  Captain Rohit Sharma’s poor form continues as he was out for 17 in 13 balls including 3 fours to Mustafizur Rahman. Earlier, asked to bat first by India who won the toss, Bangaladesh score 139/8 in 20 overs with Jaidev Unadkat taking 3/38. All rounder Vijay Shankar took 2/32. Wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took 1/19 and pacer Shardul Thakur 1/25. For Bangladesh, Liton Das scored 34 and Sabbir Rahman 30.
