Patna : Australia were all out for 351 in 110.4 overs against South Africa on the second day at Kingsmead, Durban, South Africa, on March 2, 2018, in the first test, thanks to a fighting 96 in 173 balls by all rounder Mitchell Marsh and 35 in 25 balls by fast bowler Mitchell Starc.
Resuming at their overnight scoreof 225/5, Australia lost their sixth wicket at 237 with wicketkeeper Tim Paine getting out for 25 while the 7th wicket fell with the score reading 251 when fast bowler Pat Cummins was out for 3. The 8th wicket of Starc fell at 300. On the first day, Captain Steven Smith was out for 56 while opener David Warner made 51. Shaun Marsh made 40.
On a pitch which was hardly assisting fast bowlers, South African spinner Keshav Maharaj took 5/123 in 33.4 overs while seamer Vernon Philander took 3/59 and fast bowler Kagiso Rabada 2/74.
In reply, South Africa were 64/3 in 21.2 overs with A B de villiers batting on 17 and Captain Faf du Plessis batting on 8. Hashim Amla was out for duck to spinner Nathan Lyon, who also accounted for opener Dean Elgar( 7). Opener Aiden Markram was out for 32 to fast bowler Cummins.
